9 Essential Experiences at Disneyland Resort

World Of Color

#1: Nighttime Entertainment

Many Disneyland visitors show up at the gates right at opening and leave early in the evening, unable to go on due to exhaustion. This is unfortunate because it means they’re missing out on all the amazing nighttime entertainment Disneyland Resort has to offer. While we recommend arriving at opening, we also think it’s ideal to take an afternoon break and return to the parks for the nighttime fun.

What kind of entertainment should you expect? These are the current options:

  • “World of Color” — Shown at California Adventure, this amazing performance uses lights, water, fire, music, and projections to inspire, bring back memories, and create magic. You will want to get a ticket to this show early in the day to ensure you have a place to view it.
  • “Fantasmic!” — This show is an amazing spectacular that also uses projections, water, music, and fire. This one tells a story of Mickey Mouse defeating the villains in his dream. It’s just as entrancing as “World of Color” and likewise requires a ticket that should be obtained as soon as the park opens.
  • “Remember… Dreams Come True” — A 16-minute fireworks show filled with music and memories, this is one nighttime event you don't want to miss. Be sure to watch for Tinkerbell, as she does make an appearance in this incredible performance.

We know this sounds like a lot to squeeze into one trip, and that’s because it is. For this reason, we highly recommend making your trip 4–5 days long and investing in park hopper tickets if at all possible.

That said, even a quick trip to Disneyland can be great, so don’t skip it if you only have a day or two. Instead, make a good plan and go in knowing you will miss some things, but you can always return for more later!
