Be sure to take a look at some of the painted windows along Main Street, as many pay homage to former Disney employees and other individuals who contributed in some way to Disneyland. Also, if you take a look at the wrought-iron rails above the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction you can observe the initials “W” and “R” for Walt and Roy in gold. Look closely at Sleeping Beauty Castle and you may even spot the Disney Family Crest. Then head for the famous “Partners” statue featuring Mickey and Walt Disney and check out that odd character symbol on Walt’s tie. The symbol is actually an elaborate abbreviation that reads “STR,” which stands for Smoke Tree Ranch—a place in Palm Springs where the Disney family vacation home was located.
