A Brief Overview of Avengers Campus

Avengers Campus is the newest land at Disney California Adventure. After a delay because of the covid-19 pandemic, it opened on June 4, 2021, replacing A Bug’s Land. Here’s a brief overview of Avengers Campus.

We’ll start with the rides. The first is Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! The ride preceded the land, having been part of Disney California Adventure since 2017. That year it was rethemed, it was originally The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, which opened in 2004.

The premise of the ride is that the Guardians have been captured, but Rocket has escaped. He needs your help to free his friends. There are six different storylines, and it is not for those who don’t like drops!

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! has a height requirement of 40 inches or taller.

The second ride is WEB SLINGERS – A Spider-Man Adventure. You’re visiting a WEB Workshop, and the Spider-Bots get out of hand. Peter Parker (or is it Spider-Man?) needs your help to neutralize the bots and save Avengers Campus.

Spider-Man is featured again in The Amazing Spider-Man! There are several shows each day, the times are listed in the Disneyland App. Look up, because the show takes place high overhead.

Doctor Strange fans will want to visit the Ancient Sanctum. You can meet the doctor and learn more about the mystic arts.

The main dining location is Pym Test Kitchen. This quick service restaurant serves all three meals. With the word “Pym” in the name you can expect portions that are not a normal size!

Outside of Pym Test Kitchen is Pym Tasting Lab. This lounge features creative alcoholic and non-alcoholic concoctions.

There are two food kiosks as well. Terran Treats sells churros with a cosmic twist. Shawarma Palace has, well, shawarma, including a plant based version.

There are plenty of characters throughout Avengers Campus. There are also some fun shopping opportunities; you can even buy a Spider-Bot to take home!

These are the highlights of Avengers Campus. We recommend giving yourself plenty of time, because the details are amazing.

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. When I was nine my family went to Disneyland and I was hooked. I grew up, attended New England College in Henniker, NH, and eventually moved to Virginia. I worked as a disc jockey, married, and became a full time mom when our daughter was born. Fast forward several years. In 2010, we moved to Central Florida and my Disney obsession grew. I now work as a freelance writer and spend my spare time in the Parks. Under the name Paula Brown, I penned the novels 'Dream Wanderers' and 'The Coffee Cruiser'. I also am a co-author of 'Dining at Walt Disney World: The Definitive Guide'. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, so this is a good time to live in Central Florida.
